About Shep

Founded in 2011, SHEP is a commercial production company specializing in content for tech companies. In 2018, the founders wrote, directed, and produced their first feature film PROSPECT and continue to support the passion for narrative filmmaking across the entire company, allowing both disciplines to inform and elevate each other. Our sister company PACKRAT was launched in 2025 to indulge our affinity for sci-fi and other wild genre influences.

About the Role:

We are open to a wider range of experience (with pay commiserate). We are more interested in hiring the right person than the right previous experience. The primary purpose of this role is editing and post production service for our commercial productions (Shep & Packrat). It will also include working on marketing content, data management systems, and supporting the larger team when not busy on client projects.

Ideal candidate details:

  • Proficient editor with experience & a portfolio of work editing commercials, a bonus if docu-style corporate shoots

  • Flexibility and open to stepping into multiple responsibilities as needed (on set DIT, etc)

  • Understanding of data management (bonus if you know Resilio)

  • Understanding of post-production processes and flows. Bonus if also has knowledge of production process in the commercial industry

  • Knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and DaVinci Resolve

  • Bonus if knowledgeable in VFX and/or Motion Graphics

  • Quick decision maker and problem solver

  • Curious and willing to dive in deep and learn about the products and features being filmed

  • A clear and prompt communicator 

  • Be timely, empathetic, curious, positive, and collaborative

  • Available and willing to travel (though travel for this role is rare) 

Job details

  • Primarily remote (for now) - a preference for those in the Seattle metro area

  • Reports to Creative Director

  • Primarily standard working hours (M-F 9a-5p)

Compensation and Benefits

  • $50-75k+ depending on experience

  • Health insurance
